MACA AND NASA 

The “MACA” Peruvian plant has been cultivated for thousands of years by the ancient Peruvians, the Incas, for its nutritional, medicinal and fertility properties now known scientifically in the twentieth century. 

Carlos Noriega, a Peruvian-American astronaut for NASA said “the Peruvian scientists must present projects to NASA”. Such was the impact on Dr. Chacon that she decided to visit Noriega , it was decided that scientific studies could be performed with MACA in space due to its nutritional value, and properties which help with the reproductive system. Many animals lose their reproductive abilities while in space and MACA would be an ideal supplement to experimentally restore these abilities. As a result, NASA is now using MACA as a nutritional supplement for its astronauts. MACA helps these astronauts maintain their physique and helps their lucidity and reflexes needed to fulfill important and risky missions.
